Calder Park to Host First Concert in 33 Years with ‘Rock’n Revived’ at the Thunderdome

After more than three decades of silence on the live music front, Calder Park Raceway is set to roar back to life — not just with engines, but with electrifying rock anthems.

On Saturday, March 21, the iconic Thunderdome will host its first concert in 33 years as Calder Park Rock’n Revived brings a high-octane fusion of championship circuit racing and classic rock to Melbourne’s north-west.

Headlining the event is Australian performer Rob Mills, who will take fans on a powerhouse journey through the hits of Bon Jovi. Expect arena-shaking renditions of classics including “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “It’s My Life,” and “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

Joining Mills on the lineup are Soul Chisel, Jimmy Cupples and Nat Allison, with the concert kicking off at 6pm following a full day of on-track action as part of Round 2 of Trophy Tour Victoria’s Championship Circuit racing.

Racing by Day, Rock by Night

In a move designed to unite motorsport and music fans, all concert ticket holders will receive access to the day’s racing action — including track and paddock experiences — before the stage lights ignite Saturday evening.

The event marks a bold evolution for grassroots motorsport promoters Trophy Tour Vic, expanding their offering to attract new audiences and deliver a fresh entertainment experience inside the historic Thunderdome.

Affordable, All-Ages Entertainment

Organisers are positioning Rock’n Revived as an accessible, all-ages event:

  • Adults: $40
  • Under 16: $30
  • Under 3: Free
  • Family Pass (2 adults + 2 under 16): $100

A Personal Mission to Bring Rock Back

Concert curator Phil Chester says the inspiration for Rock’n Revived stems from a powerful memory — attending the legendary Guns N’ Roses concert at Calder Park in the early 1990s.

“Seeing Guns N’ Roses play at Calder Park is a memory that will remain with me forever,” Chester said.

“That concert was massive — the scale and the experience were unforgettable. When the idea of reviving a rock show at Calder came to me, I knew it had to happen.”

Chester credits securing Rob Mills’ Bon Jovi tribute as the catalyst that brought the vision to life.

“Adding Soul Chisel, Jimmy Cupples and Nat Allison completed the lineup — and before we knew it, we were promoting a rock concert in the historic Thunderdome.

“I can’t put into words how excited I am. This is going to be something truly special.”

A New Chapter for an Iconic Venue

Co-promoted by Torre Entertainment and Blue Planet Entertainment, Calder Park Rock’n Revived signals a new chapter for one of Australia’s most storied motorsport venues.

For fans of fast cars and big guitars, March 21 promises a rare chance to experience both in one unforgettable day.
